Ok you can now use water to run your car and here is how.

Sorry guys you are wrong, my brother hooked his car up with about 300 dollars of equipment on his expedition which got 17 miles per gallon to 25......also it's very easy to do, any D I Y person can...

I use Acetone in my gas tank. 2oz. per 10 gallons, no more. Once you have your O2 sensor adjusted you will get the same increase in mileage as well as more power and a smoother running engine plus it idles at slightly lower RPM's. Now this is a proven fact.

I'll side with the laws of chemistry and physics thanks.

Acetone sounds like a myth. It's a ketone (di-methyl ketone) and already oxidized as much as possible.

Try nitromethane ;)

Believe what you will, acetone does in fact work, I have proven it.

Links? What was your actual MPG improvement?

Links? What was your actual MPG improvement?

My Mazda MPV went from 11 mpg to 18 mpg and I noticed the improvement in idle, lower RPM's and more horsepower/response immediately. As for the links, I'll have to get back with you on that.

The program is this -
1. You must use pure acetone, none of that stuff you get in Wallgreens. The acetone made by Beauty Secrets, which can be purchased in beauty supply shops was recommended and what I have been using.

2. The ratio is 2 oz. acetone per 10 gals. of gasoline. Any more has a negative effect.

3. If your car is newer than 1995, after adding acetone you must have your O2 sensor adjusted. If not your car will not take advantage of the benefits.

4. An added advantage is that the acetone helps clean your fuel lines and injectors.

Two questions about acetone:

What does it do to your emissions?

What is your mileage improvement if you adjusted your O2 sensor without using acetone?

Thanks

Two questions about acetone:

What does it do to your emissions? It reduces them as the fuel burns more efficiently.

What is your mileage improvement if you adjusted your O2 sensor without using acetone? No improvement. The O2 sensor is adjusted to work with regular gasoline.

Thanks

Did that help?

Modifying the O2 sensor can cause a leaner mixture which in turn will improve mileage but degrade emissions.

Have any official reports been done?

Yes, just can't put my finger on one right now. BTW many NASCAR racers use acetone to blend different fuels/additives.

A lesson in Racing Fuels 101

Sunoco's 260 GTX Racing Gasoline is the official fuel of NASCAR. Sunoco 260 GTX is an unleaded racing fuel that contains no oxygenates and no metal additives (lead). It also does not contain any ethers or alcohols such as ethanol or methanol or any other oxygenates. It is a disgustingly boring fuel as fuels go. No propylene oxide, no acetone, no nitro propene no nitrobenzene, no tetraethyl (whatever that is -- maybe the fossil of an extinct flying dinosaur? Actually it is a form of lead.), no ethanol, no methanol, no ether, no alcohols, etc. There is a whole list of "chemicals" and "chemical compounds" that could make 260 GTX a lot more sexy and exciting -- I'm getting a headache just trying to read and pronounce most of them -- but NASCAR wants its fuel to be pure and chaste. I asked the engineers at Sunoco to give me a breakdown on 260 GTX but they graciously declined to provide any comments concerning NASCAR fuels for this article. So I will endeavor to enlighten you with my own researched definitions below.

Do you have more info on the O2 sensor mod?

If you just do the mod and run regular gas how is the mileage affected?

Hey Lee this is the race gas I used in my 2000 CBR600 F4 racebike I ran a compression ratio of 14:1 and it was fairly modified. I was paying over 8 bucks a litre for this stuff and would buy a 5 gallon jug every 3 race weekends.

C12
The best all around racing fuel made. Recommended for CRs below 15:1, satisfying the needs of 75% of today's race engines. One of the winningest fuels in racing history, including Modified Tour, GNN, D.I.R.T., Indy Lights, NHRA, AMA as well as other local and national championships across the U.S. and around the world. • Color: Green
• Motor Octane: 108
• Specific gravity: .717 at 60° F

My bad. I was using NASCAR as a generic term when I should have properly said stock car racers.
