Question on a Cable Provider remote

We have Brighhouse networks here in Central Florida (Orlando). My dad just purchased a Vizio TV with a HTIB. The Cable Provider remote is supposed to be universal. 5-6 devices I think. It is easy to program. It basically finds the codes itself which is nice. My question comes in though with the HTIB, since it has a dvd player. The Cable provider remote control has a designated spot for dvd players, but has no eject key or button to use for such. So they question is...Can it in fact control the dvd player in the HTIB? Thanks in advance for the help.

You'd either have to call Brighthouse or if they gave you an instruction sheet, check that out.

Or just hit the dvd button on the cable remote and start pressing the directional keys, or any keys that look promising. I have in the past done the press and see what happens and some keys you'd never expect to, control things. That's the best way.
