Hi, I need a short-throw projector for occasional use. My son wants to play his game console urgently on a projector, so he got me to buy him one. But I think an entry level model will do for the beginning. Short-throw must be because our rooms are not too big and it gives me the most flexibility.
Looking forward to suggestions and pricing (actually I do not intend to spend more than 500USD, but got no clue if that will do).
Thanks!

If your son has a console that's designed for high definition resolution, $500 might be difficult. Entry level for good HD projectors are around $800.
How big is the room and what is the anticipated distance from the projector to the screen/wall?

1. My son's console is a Wii
2. distance from wall to table where I'd place the projector would be 1 to 2meters.
I did some research and come up with these short-throw projectors, all in the price range of about 500$:
BenQ MP512ST
Sharp XR-30S
Are this good picks and which would you recommend?

Since the Wii is not an HD console...the choices get easier. Based on the specs on paper, I'd go with the BenQ.

I have bought 2 projectors off e-bay for a 3rd their new retial price - both boxed in as new condition with bulbs that have done less thann 200 hours - there are plenty on there. Any manuals are available on the web as pdf's.

The BenQ is definitely a good choice.
