Anyone have any input. I think my computer might be dying, so I wanted to get an external drive to backup my files. I bought a WD My Book Essential 500g for $100 at Best Buy. In reading reviews, it's a bit of a crap shoot. Some love it and a few have it die after about 15 months (with 1 yr warranty). I am still leaning towards keeping it, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the My Books (varios sizes) or another external hard drive that they love. I am looking to keep it at $100 and would like to get as big of a drive as I can, though I only need about 160g for my current computer.
