Pineapple Express

See it!

Not sure much else to say about it, besides that it's another hilarious performance by Seth Rogen. It's not for everyone that's for sure. Its full of fowl language, crude humor, and drug references, but good for anyone with an appreciation for that kind of humor.

I saw it last night(Tuesday), and the theater was completely packed. Most of the crowd was laughing out loud in every other scene. Normally that would be obnoxious, but it was cool because it just gave a good vibe in the theater.

Post your Pineapple Express thoughts and reviews here!

James Franco stole the show imo.. He was fantastic in this movie as was everyone else but he just made every scene that much better..

Danny McBride is another hilarious dude..

I saw it the day it came out and was terribly disappointed. It wasn't bad, but it was nowhere near as funny as I thought it would be.

Glad somebody liked it. I think Seth Rogan is worthless as an actor and this is just another showing of that.

Not surprised by your responses IB-Dick and Loves2Watch. As I mentioned in the OP, I was certain that not everyone would enjoy it. I admit that it is completely immature humor, but just reminds me so much of me and friends in high school(granted we weren't that crazy nor brain-dead, but same idea)

And I don't know that I'd say that Seth Rogen is necessarily a talented actor, because I'm sure there are thousands and thousands of people out there who could play his roles just as well, but I don't hold that against him.

As I said, I'm glad someone liked it as we all have different tastes.

Now with that being said, I'm sure you will agee that it seems the studios are just making movies to make movies and money (not that I'm saying that about this movie because I haven't seen it). Alhough there are some good movies many are just ho hum and there is better programming on TV. If Hollywood wants me to spend my hard earned money, especially to draw me to a theater, they have to entertain me and so many movies these days do not. They hype them up with TV ads and pseudo reviews only to let down the viewers. I think this may be one of the reasons they are loosing money in sales rather that those bogus numbers they post for dollars lost due to piracy.

You havent even seen it and you are trashing it in a thread dedicated to people who have seen it :what:

Your opinion is just that, Yours.. But if you have nothing to add except for you think that Seth Rogen is worthless and so are the studios for making movies like this than perhaps you should do what your mother taught you.. If you dont have anything nice to say, then dont say anything at all.. :D

The Studios make movies like these because there is a target audience that enjoys them and will pay to see them.... Perhaps all these movies that are letting you down are just not catered to you :what:

I guarantee you that seth rogan is in fact a good actor. If you actually watched pineapple express you would see that he plays a character who is totally stuck up to his dealer. Hes not just this nice guy that likes everyone this time around, sit down and watch his character change throughout the movie.. His character goes from a rude guy, to realizing he actually was a jerk to changing his ways. He displayed a lot of character traits that you normally dont see him use in other movies, they are sometimes subtle but if you sit down and analyse it he is doing a damn good job. Just because he acts in movies that are sometimes stupid and have a certain kind of humor in them by no means discredits him as an actor. I doubt that many other people could pull it off!!! Sorry for my rant!
(I read this again and my grammar is horrible. Oh well)

That's the thing... I love immature humor. The two best parts to me were the two times a character suddenly yelled "F@#$ YOU!" at someone (in the first scene and again at the school). I laughed like crazy at those two parts. And the ashtray was pretty funny. I'm just saying that it was not as funny as I was hoping it would be.

I thought "Step Brothers" was going to suck, since the last half dozen movies Will Farrell has made have been garbage, but it was actually funnier than expected. Pineapple Express...... exact opposite.

I really like Seth Rogan. I especially dig that he writes a lot of the stuff he does. This was simply not his best work in my opinion, and was completely over-hyped.

One of the biggest reasons you didn't like it so much may have been the fact that it was over-hyped and you had higher expectations. That normally happens to me.. If I go into a movie expecting too much, and it only ends up being decent, then I'm disappointed in it.

In this case, I hadn't even watched a preview for it.. just heard about it coming out soon. No one I knew had seen it, so I went in expecting nothing really.

Many times I think that is better as the hype sometimes leaves us feeling like we got less that we expected or were led to believe. Which is some of what I was saying in my previous post. Give me less hype and I will probably come out feeling better about the movie. And I really do LOVE movies.

I agree with you completely.
