Definitely looking forward to this...I'm glad they didn't start making films based on Voyager and those stupid spinoff shows; that wasn't Trek...seems inevitable that a prequel would come along documenting the beginnings of Kirk and crew -- but I hope Abrams gets all the details right on the ship, characters, etc, as "Enterprise" horribly didn't.

A shame they couldn't continue making films in the franchise after "Generations" because many of the original cast passed away or are just too old now; the Next Generation based films in the series were good, up until Insurrection I suppose, but the original crew is where it's at -- especially the films with Nicholas Meyer at the helm.
