Zero mention of what kind of projector he's using, but Im willing to bet its just a standard consumer projo....kinda makes ya want to do this in your own back yard, dont it?

Looks like it's near a golf course and not rated to withstand a shot from the small white ball. :)

That ripple in the screen near the bottom center would annoy me to no end...

I bet that ripple wouldn't even be noticeable during a movie.

Just saying.

Open the link and see the other image,...I'd hate to see anything on that screen

I just opened the link and looked at the other pictures. I would like to retract my previous post. That screen would be awful to view.

That's what I call nice and taut. :)

Maybe it was just low on air pressure.

That screen looked like a tarp it was so wrinkled.

Maybe it's just low on quality.

In the story it said the screen was inflatable, so like I said, it was probably just low on air pressure.

Maybe its low-quality air. :) Seriously...they should have had it fully pumped up for the photo shoot.

I agree with that!

I wonder just how flat it could be if it's inflated.

Possibly would have a few minor bulges but that's better than what it looks like when not full.

So I decided to do a little further investigation and Walmart does in fact sell outdoor inflatable screens. The way they work looks to be you blow up a large back and the screen is velcroed to the bag.

So anyone care to guess the quality of a 149" diag sceen for $198? It looks like this guy just used the sceen (not the inflatable bag) and made a system where it unrolls with a hand crank made from plumbing parts. It talks about needing only one person to raise it but two to lower it back down. My guess is those wrinkles is the way it normally is.

Of course this begs the question, would you bring a several thousand dollar projector out near your pool (with people splashing about)?

Judging from that photo...the distortion potential is rather significant.

Surprisingly most of the reviews are positive.

I think this has a novelty effect that some people go for. I'm sure if your looking for a fun evening with the kids doing something different this could be for you. But if you're looking for the great picture a nice FP can produce I highly doubt this would met expectations.
