Bold HDF predictions for 2008 NFL season

Anyone wish to venture any wild and wooly preseason predictions for the upcomming NFL season?

I'll start with the Bengals only win 5 games and finally fire Marvelous Marvin Lewis....

Brett Farve gets seriously injured in 2nd week and misses the rest of 08.......the Madden curse lives on......

Miami Dolphins win 9 games in huge turnaround...

Injuries and Super bowl hangover dooms Giants to 8-8 season and they miss playoffs.....

The NFC west will continue to be a laughing stock. The Pats will lose in the 1st round of the playoffs to the Chargers. And the Colts will meet the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. One more thing, my beloved 49ers will continue to suck.

Bold AFC Prediction: I know Steeler fans will say I am a traitor, but I say that Derek Anderson was no fluke & the Browns win the division AND go to the Super Bowl for the AFC beating Manning & company in the AFC championship game. The only weakness that Browns team has is the secondary wich could bring them down, but I am making a bold prediction here.
The ONLY reason I am not sold on PITT is their offensive line is in chaos right now. Big Ben was sacked over 40 times the last two years, you cannot succeed with no Offensive line. Plus the jury is still out on Tomlin, as he never coached PITT to one victory last year when it was needed.

Not very bold NFC Prediction: I see Dallas representing the NFC in the SB losing to the Browns. They play each other in week one & Dallas should win at home, but Browns will beat em in the SB.

Suprise Good Team: Oakland Raiders...IF Jamarcus Russell is as good as the hype & Davis will leave Kiffin alone I think they will win 10 games & get a wildcard spot.

Suprise Bad Team: Jacksonville Jaguars...this team & it's QB are sooooo overrated. Del Rio isn't a bad coach(I wish PITT had him), but I say they struggle to win 6 games.

Bold Favre Prediction: The Jets looked very good 2 years ago & last year could not overcome the lousy QB's they had. Now they have Favre & one of the top 5 offensive lines in the NFL. I say Favre leads them to the playoffs & possible division title over the Patriots.

Oh yea I forgot to mention the NY Giants. I know they lost Strahan, but if that Defense is still intact otherwise that should help win a few games. But their offense is horrible beginning with Eli. But he does have a good weapon in Plaxico. So I agree with 8-8, but no better than that.

Cowboys SB champs. Of course i am a huge cowboys fan but have to be optomistic about this squad. Only bad thing is the NFC East has to be the best division in football. Everyone is good but I do see the giants coming in last.

Patriots win the Super Bowl. (I know, bold prediction)
Indy really comes back to earth this year.
My Bears suck and win 4 games and get the overall 1st pick in next years draft and pick a QB.
Romo chokes in the playoffs again and another blonde is to blame.
Minnesota gets to the Super Bowl and loses AGAIN for I think the 5th time.
The Raiders win the West!!!

OK, I'm going to get drunk now.....

I am saying my raiders go 9-7, finish 2nd in the west behind LT and ther chargers, pats win the east in a landslide, colts win their division , the west is a 3 team race, with the cowboys, packers, and giants all finishing 123 and i see a chargers cowboys superbowl

My Chicago Bears will finally realize that Rex sucks and Kyle Orton does too. They will finish with a horrible record and get at least a top five pick and blow it on another player like Cedric Benson and then we start all over again with a 7th round QB and Lovie will say how great he looked after throwing 6 picks in the 1st qtr. of the 2009 season. :(

I have a Bold prediciton for 2009. Bears will suck. And for some reason I will still love them.

i must say their draft decisions last year blew my mind!! my brother-in-law is a huuuuuge bears fan, so i tend to pay attention to them. why they never picked a qb or rb is beyond me. and then i at least thought they would bring in leftwich or culpepper for a tryout, but nope... (yes i know they suck, but grossman???? come on!) BRING BACK JEFF GEORGE!!!

Viking's Adrian Peterson will break the single-season rushing record by totaling over 2,200 yards.

However, Minnesota still doesn't make the playoffs. :(

If they had a decent QB I would not think twice about picking them instead of Dallas to go to the Super Bowl for the NFC.
They don't even need a star QB, just a decent, solid QB. But I am not at Vikings training camp so maybe they see something in Tavaris I don't see.

As a lifelong SC fan, I would love to see Booty get a chance. But he didn't really impress me at USC and he's having a very shakey pre season.

Yeah, but the good Booty!

While the Steelers are going to struggle, best believe the Browns are too. Cinci and Baltmore aren't in the mix. Last year, all the media folk were all geeked talking about Cinci, pfff.

AFC North... Will come down to the Steelers or Browns, obviously I hope the Steelers and say it's 55-45 Pittsburgh repeats as AFC North champs.

Giants... make the playoffs, only because their schedule isn't tough and only limp in as a six seed. They are knocked out of the first round.

Bears... don't make playoffs, 8-8 at best. But I say... 6-10.

Colts make it to AFC conference championship game.

Patriots do not win the superbowl (not saying they'll make it to, just they don't win) and players show their age.

Chargers and Raiders look impressive and finish the season strong, playoff spots. Raiders become heavily talked about by the media.

Vikings, Titans, and Jags, all do well with at least 9-10 wins each.

I hope your right about PITT lordgamer. I have been a PITT fan since I was 8 yrs old in 1976 & have never wavered, but they have a BIG problem this year...they have nothing close to a good offensive line from what I have been reading & watching. Plus they gave up over 40 sacks a year the last 2 years.
I hope PITT can put it together but this is why I think the Browns win that division...they have an AWESOME offensive line that will protect their QB & open holes for Lewis that you could drive a truck thru.

I hope I'm right too. :D I haven't watched most of the pre-season this year, but the little I did see, did not help matters. With our schedule, I wouldn't be surprised if we finished 8-8. Heck, 9-7 would be good and 10-6 would be amazing. That said, finishing 500 in this division could still have you on top.

Barring injury, he may have a better season in TD's but no way is he gonna have more total yardage.

I totally agree with that. As they have some great players in that division top to bottom. Westbrook may be the best back in the game as he cannot be stopped, cause if you stop him running he will beat you catching the ball & usually beats you with both, but will never get the credit deserved. I sure ain't crazy to see our Defense try & stop him this week.

Boy Sobay, if your rams could win a game, your prediction might have a shot. 'Cause Seattle (who was supposed to run away with this division) looks terrible right now. 'Zona, a trendy pick every year since buddy ryan was the head coach there, is playing well now -- but how long will they last? Division is up for grabs -- there is still hope!

Well it did say BOLD predictions:)
I like Quinn myself, but then again Notre Dame is my second favorite college FB team so I could be a bit biased.
But it is not helping Anderson at all that Braylon Edwards has as many drops as he has catches. And only had 46 yds recieving with no TD's. With Edwards having that bad of a start I still think Anderson isn't a fluke though, but who knows.

I figured they weren't going to be that great, maybe 8-8. But I cannot believe how horrible this team is. They are actually worse than the Bengals & that is bad.
But I don't understand how an offense with Bulger, who I think is above avg., Jackson & Holt is not scoring more. Could be a bad Offensive line & bad defense as I don't know much about them.
Ya never know in the crazy world of the NFL Sobay, they may turn it around yet & at least win 7-8 games.
