I'm having problems connecting my Geforce 6800 gs to my hdtv (panasonic th-42px60u, 720p, 1024x768) I am running win xp and using an s-video cable to connect to the hdtv. Basically I want to continue to use my monitor for normal computing, then my tv for watching online content. Should I use clone or dual view? What settings should I apply? When I restart my computer, both my monitor and tv show the bios start up and the win xp loading screen, but once my desktop pops up on my monitor, my tv is displaying nothing but snow. Any help would be extremely useful. I read the giant thread above connecting pc to hdtv but found nothing in it that could help.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

I don't think S-Video can handle 720p resolution.

I don't think your TV has VGA or DVI inputs either, but it should have HDMI inputs.

The only way I see it with that graphics card, is if you hook up your PC monitor to the VGA, and buy a cable like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812119129

and hook your TV up to that (DVI -> HDMI)

The downside is your monitor will be using VGA and maybe won't be as sharp.

Dextormorgan is correct xynyx. You need a DVI to HDMI cableor better yet buy a DVI to HDMI adapter and buy a decent HDMI cable for this purpose. This is your best bet. S-Video will not run in the native 720p resolution. This would degrade the quality of the picuture if you use S-Video. Dump the S-Video cable and switch to the cable Dextormorgan linked you to at newegg in his reply. Peace....
