AVN's adult channel on VUDU is now available

VUDU is now offering adult content for purchase and rental. AVN is the adult industry's standard for ratings and recommendations. Where available, titles on VUDU's AVN channel display their AVN star rating (one to five stars). The initial AVN catalog offering includes 674 titles, 22 of them in HD.

Adult content is not enabled automatically on the VUDU box and must be enabled in the online account at vudu.com. Parental controls are also available to keep the content from being displayed or accessed. Essentially, the adult content is kept in a "mirror" area of the VUDU - it has it's own main menu, My VUDU, and other menus. The user can easily switch back and forth between the areas using the parental control access code.

We'd stop short of calling it inevitable, but we aren't shocked one bit to hear that on-demand porn has landed on VUDU's set-top-box. Adult Video Network (AVN) has developed a channel for VUDU which enables users to rent and purchase SD or HD films just like any other less explicit title. As expected, users would be asked to first "verify their age" and clear parental controls before anything on the channel could be viewed. Interested in pricing details? Try $6.99 / $19.99 for SD rentals / purchases and $8.99 / $29.99 for HD rentals / purchases.
