NBC will be broadcasting 1,400 hours of Olympic coverage on: NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Universal, Oxygen, Telemundo (spanish), and some providers will carry dedicated basketball and soccer channels.

DirecTv has a neat feature for the olympics. If you press the red button it will give you a menu of the channels and coverage!

That is real nice. But I still can't find swimming even when it shows it is on, as I like to watch them race.

Also lets you see medal count(red button). I wasnt home for the opening celebration how was that in HD. I watched it in SD and couldnt help but think damn this would look nice.

The opening Ceremony was fantastic. NBC must have told its affiliates to not choke the HD bit rate because there was practically no macroblocking. And there was plenty of flashing lights and fast motion to cause macroblocking if they had tried to short us on bitrate, but very little.
