Lost HDMI inputs on Toshiba 30HFX84

After searching the forum, I decided to go ahead and post this question. I have two HDMI inputs on the set. One is used for the HD DVD, and the other supports the HDTV STB Explorer 8500. We have our Wii in one of the component inputs. Yesterday, my son was playing the Wii, and when done switched over to watch the cable it did not work. When I came home from work, I discovered that both inputs did not work. I tried both HDMI cables, but am skeptic that both cables fried at the same time. I did a reset per the service manual, and still not signal. Can I reset the cache on the HDMI board in case I have a HDCP problem? If so, how? I had no lightning or electric surges in the area. The balance of the inputs work fine. Please advise.

I doubt there is a cache or anything you need to reset on the HDMI board--if the devices aren't getting the HDCP handshake, you can try changing the order in which you turn the devices on.

Normally turning on the display first, then the player, should work as only the player cares whether it is connected to an HDCP compliant device, but try both ways to be sure.

I suspect the HDMI input is faulty, though.:(

After much trial:banghead: , I believe you are correct. The board that controls the inputs control both:( . The gasser is the price of a replacement part:eek: . Its too much to spend. I would replace the set first. For now...colorstream will be the choice. My HD DVD player does work, and I do get 1080I for my display;) . It appears to treat the HD DVD's as regular dvd's and "upscales":yippee: :what: them.
Thanks for the reply.
