USB Storage Help Needed

Just got a 750 GB drive today and started experimenting with it. There are no instructions in the VIP 622 manual so I am winging it.
Biggest question so far is about grouping. On the DVR there is a 'group' function which I really like. I can't find that this feature is available when I transfer recordings to the drive.

I have 40 episodes of Dream Car Garage. I couldn't find a way to move them to the drive as a group - had to select all episodes individually to move. Now that they're moved they show up on the drive menu as individuals and I can't find a way to 'regroup' them.

Am I overlooking something?

Thanks for your help

Did you call Dish and pay the fee for the external Hard Drive?

Yes sir, I did. Everything seems to work as it should. I just don't see an option to group recordings of the same show on the drive the way you can on the DVR.

The group feature makes searching the list of recordings much easier. In my example of the recordings of Dream Car Garage, I have 40 episodes recorded. When I am searching on the DVR the name Dream Car Garage comes up once. If I am looking for something else I can go past just one entry for DCG and continue my search. When I am searching on the drive I have to scroll past the name Dream Car Garage 40 times before I can see what else is available.

That's why I hope there is a group feature available somewhere in the drive section of the menu.

I don't believe there is the group option for the external hard drive.

That's what it is starting to look like. I'm going to miss it.
My main reason for buying the drive was to put my groups on it and leave the DVR storage for single events.:(

It's 'in the works' according to the last Tech Chat.

That's good to hear. Sure is a handy feature.
Where can I find the tech chats?

Go on the dishnetwork website, they list both dates/times for Tech Chats as well as Charlie Chats (next Monday for the next Charlie Chat).
