I just bought my George Bush TV over the last weekend, and decided to upgrade my 522 to a 722. Just so everyone knows, I called DISH, they sent the receiver right away, and in the box I had the following:
6' HDMI cable
6' Component cable
6' RCA cables
6' Svideo cable
I guess I can hook it up just about any way I want. Thanks DISH, first time in a long time something went well for me with you.

Its kind of ironic you call an hdtv a George Bush tv seeing as he had nothing to do with the digital change. This changeover started in 1996 do to the fact we were way behind many countries with the old analog 1950's television, and receptions. An outcry from many to update our television technology was the reason for this change. Maybe you should call it the Bill Clinton tv.

If only.... it's actually some of his own money he's getting back.
Stimulate this....!!!

And how much stimulus money did you pay for this upgrade? The bottom line shouldn't have been more than $50.00.

Wow the controversy! Yes it was a George Bush TV because I paid with my Stimulus (899.00 for a 42" LCD from costco). And the receiver, I paid 75$ for it. I know, I could have fought and threatened to cancel and try to get it for free, but that is not my character. I know on their website, they say it is 125.00 for the upgrade, but when I called, they offered 75$ right off the bat. I dont feel too bad, considering I don't want to go with Direct, so switching is not an option. And, I know that it costs them money to ship to me and to pay for shipping for my old receiver back. Plus, I got all of the cables... I am not unhappy at all. I just wanted to let people know what I got in the box, as lately there seems to be controversy around what cables are and are not supplied from Dish.

I'm surprised it came with the cabling. The systems we dealers purchase do not.
BTW - some people here are very sensitive - guess you found out. But I agree with you - kudos to you and your George Bush TV!

You may have missed my point.. getting a pittance of your hard earned overpaid taxes refunded as a 'stimulus check', is not getting a gift from George Bush. Calling it 'your TV' is much more accurate. ;)

mine didn't come with the cables, i even specificaly asked. No worries, figured they wouldn't include so i got mine from Newegg before the guy made it out.
BTW: touchy touchy some people. I thought he was refereing to the 'Frank TV' comercials for DISH where he is imitating Bush. I love the one where he's talking about the french button for stop... "Pauseeh"
lol still makes me laugh

I would agree with you if only the people that PAY taxes actually got the stimulus checks. I got a guy who works for me part-time that got all his taxes back PLUS the stimulus check which kinda makes it a George Bush TV.
BTW .. the funniest Frank commercial is the online only version about Bill Clinton. Check it out, you'll laugh your ass off.

Even though it is my hard earned tax dollars that I "got back". It still was an act of "George" that gave me the money to buy the TV. So my money or not, thanks George.
