We have good reason for being pissed! THEY emailed US and said get ready for local HD in May! Several people contact customer service and get the same thing, "Yes, although you are not listed, local HD is coming to your area this month(May)" = B.S. Its June 1st and STILL NO LOCAL HD. The DVR is the only thing that saves them from customers abandoning ship. It's not enough we are behind Directv in HD channels but they lie to us as well. Just tell us the truth there has been a delay or we don't know how to launch a satellite! This should be on 20/20's GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!

but they had a satellite launch that went "BOOM." They seem to be scrambling to try and offer some of the locals they promised, but guess it is hard with their new sat all burnt up.

I had my HD locals long before Dish offered them. If you are in such a need for them, get an OTA.
By the way racing smoke, I'm watch Apollo 13 right now.

I have an OTA w/motorized postioner, however I have to make sure it is pointing the right way or if the wind blows I may lose signal or if a bird flys by. Yes it is on a tower just below wgere planes fly and it is huge, not a little antenna. The point is that the cable company offers, it directv offers it, but not Dish....cmon get with the program(pun intended)

More than likely your local hd stations will appear soon. Have you
double checked the All Hd stations to be sure they aren't on. I have
them in the Portland Maine, area, and the CBS station is unwatchable
as the pixels are all breaking up, however most of the other stations
are fine

That's just what is even more frustrating about this whole thing is that the e-mails saying our HD locals were coming to our area and that it would be in May came AFTER the satellite launch failure! I would understand if they would've sent everything and told us May BEFORE the failed launch, but all of these "so called teases" came weeks after they knew the launch went "BOOM"!! I think that's why most of us are upset.

This is exactly why Dish is usually reluctant to announce upcoming HD channels or other big programming news. Because if it falls through, for whatever reason, people are going to be angry. There could be a myriad of different reasons of what went wrong and the CSR's can't help because they don't know either.
Let's all remember this when we moan and complain that Dish is silent about new HD channel additions. This is the kind of reaction they get when they make an announcement but something goes wrong and they can't deliver.

"Upcoming HD locals launches - June 19th, Grand Rapids MI and Memphis TN
More in "Summer/Fall"
by end of the year, 100 HD markets, 90% of US TV households"
Well, so far no locals and we are half way through the day. I guess Dish will continue to disappoint me/us. They said May and obviously that didn't happen.
Disappointment plus disappointment = DISAPPOINTMENT
If Directv ever gets their DVR in shape I wouldn't be able to cancel Dish fast enough!!!
P.S. - Does anyone know if Memphis HD locals are up and running?

Nothing you can do. Just wait for Dish.
I heard June 26th as the latest. Stay tuned for more delays.

Well, this week was the week I guess! :) We finally have HD locals in Grand Rapids. Now we'll be posting about when we will get our CBS HD feed from WWMT3. But for now we at least have 3 out of 4! The only downfall is that WWMT (CBS) is the channel I CAN'T receive via OTA due to it's low transmitting power, go figure, the one I can't receive via OTA is the one that doesn't go live today on Dish, oh well, I'll enjoy the other 3 for now!

Channel 3 has always had a signal problem long before Dish. I read on another forum dish wouldn't carry CW7(3-02 OTA) so they won't release CBS(3-01 OTA). They need a station manager overhaul!!!!
