I was wondering when recording hd content on a vip622 reciever does it matter which turner you have it set to record on? I called dish and got pretty much no help. Also how do you choose which tuner the show is gonna record on, i cannot find a setting for this only one that automatically puts all recordings on either one tuner or the other all the time no choice to have one recording on one tuner and set another for tv 2. I am tryin to see pretty much if i can watch hd on tv1 and have tuner 2 record a different show in hd. I know you cannot watch hd through tuner 2 but thought it still might record since its not actually going to the t.v.. Dont know this maybe a stupid question. If u cannot do this then i need to figure out how to record all hd recordings on tuner 1 and all sd recording preferable on tuner 2. Any suggestions?

Are you using it in single or dual user mode?

The answer is NO. Any HD content will record in HD on either 622 tuner (and the OTA tuner for that matter). If you have an OTA and local HDs available, you could potentially record ABC,NBC, & CBS all at once in HD while watching a previously recorded program.

No, it does not matter which tuner you use when recording HD. It will record on any of the three tuners (2 sats, 1 OTA) used on the 622. You are confusing tuners with outputs, tv2 output is not HD but it will downrez an HD program through the output you are using for tv2. Any HD dvr program, whether is was recorded on tuner 1, 2 or 3 will be HD when viewed through either of tv1's HD outputs.

it will downrez an HD program through the output you are using for tv2.
However, your 2nd TV will have the option of screen size adjustment (stretch, zoom, etc...) with the "format" button at the bottem left of the #2 remote control.
