Hi,
I have a VIP 722 with Dish Network subscription and I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder. I have recorded a few shows on the Dish DVR hard drive that I'd like to save on a DVD (ram, r, r dl, rw etc) and I connected the DVR to the DVD recorder. I get the image recorded on the disc but no sound. I tried every cable connection possible, RCA, S video, nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Might be helpful if you could include shots of the hookups.

sorry i cant help with your question but can the 722 do dual hi def stations. I have two recievers at the moment (vip 622 & 211). someone from dish was in the neighborhood and he said that the 722 can display 2 hi def stations at the same time on 2 different t.v.s. i was not aware of this or was he just full of it. thanks

Nice way to hi-jack someone's thread.
Yes, the 722 can record two HD programs at once, if you have ota hooked up as well, it will do three - one from the ota and two from the sats.

Have you tried the Panasonic front panel a/v inputs and selected IN2?
My Panny DMR-EZ475V has front and rear inputs. Not sure your model does, but it may work. (otherwise, you may have a faulty panny)

The 722 is the same as the 622 and the 211, it can output HD to two different HD tv's, but they will be the same channel. The two outputs are both set to output tv1.

I have the Panasonic DMR EZ27 and I record from my 622 with no issues. I use the s-video for picture and RCA plugs for the sound. Works perfectly.
