Picture Quality on Speed Channel

I noticed on Sunday's F1 race that the SD picture quality was much sharper than the other 4 races this season. They were racing in Turkey.

I was just thinking, even if Fox gets there trouble with DISH resolved if the F1 races will ever have a quality HD picture. The reason I believe this is SPEED is dependent on the foreign feed for their video.
They don't have any editing power, so they are basically watching the race and broadcasting the audio back to SPEED.

Do you think that the Turkish picture was superior because of the wealth of the Country, and they bought cutting edge video equipment.

Another thought crossed my mind on this subject. Since F1 has the largest following of any sport in the world, you would think that F1 would have their own crew with the best HD equipment money can buy. Money sure isn't a problem for them. It sure would be nice to have the same picture of NASCAR and the INDY series. I actually started watching some NASCAR races again since I got the DVR.

I guess time will tell

You got it! F1 is broadcast by the host country, and the feed goes worldwide. Thats why you will see many shots of the host country's driver, whether he is performing or not. Getting HD feeds of F1 will take forever; all host broadcasters will have to go HD. I noticed Turkey looked real good also. Maybe they did use HD equipment, for their home market, but the world feed was not. And the announcers are not there; they are in the USA.
