I edited my favorites list last night, adding the new HD channels.
I woke up this morning and EVERY channel I have was locked! When I clicked on a channel, i got :
Attention
This channel has been locked.
Insert your password and hit ok.
I tryed that, but it did nothing. I had to go through the password every time I changed the channel.
I reset the receiver, no help.
I called DISH tech at 8am. Sorry, we can't help you now, all of our systems are down. It will be running in 2 hours.
10am call, same as above
12pm call, same as above
2pm call, "I have no clue sir, that's a problem I have never seen. I will clear out your password lock and see if that helps. I just sent the signal but it will take an hour to clear your system.
3pm call, " I need the error code" There is no code "ALL of our codes have a 3 digit number" Not this one lady" Then I can't fix your problem " well maam, you are an idiot and need a different job. if you had read my service records for today as you stated, you would have seen that the previous tech would solve the problem as soon as your system was back online" ***SILENCE*** since your stumped, maybe you can answer my 2nd question...."I'll try SIR"
GOOD! any idea why all my favorite lists were deleted and reset to the factory defaults? "Maybe someone erased them" I SWEAT TO GOD SHE SAID THAT! ....good thnking maam, when my wife and I were asleep last night, my 2 German Shepherds unlocked the basement door, climbed the stairs, and with my cat standing guard, they deleted my 3 favorites list......I can see now why you make the big bucks working for DISH.........TRANSFER ME TO YOUR SUPERVISOR NOW! Do you need a 3 digit code to do that????
I was about ready to see the blinding red color, the one right before my latent temper morphs me into the Son of Godzilla......
I got a very polite man, told him the above. He said sir, I just cleared your locks, try now please. 15 seconds and the problem was solved, except for the favorites list reset. He said he had heard of that happening maybe 3 times total, and to be honest we have no clue what caused it. He was very apologetic about the favorites problem, and assured me at the FIRST HINT of any problem call a supervisor so they can make sure fluke problems are addressed.
Anyone else had anything like this happen? (not the dealing with dullards answering the phone problem)
I guess my streak had to end. I'm going on 10 years with DISH and that is the FIRST real problem I have had with customer service.
I have to give them credit though. Most problems I had have been solved by a supervisor if the tech I was speaking to could not solve it.
If not, I had had a tech at my home, usually the next day.
