I guess that this is Dish's way of dealing with their recent satellite launch problem. Get rid of Voom and they will have 15 channels open.

I wish Voom was available to DTV and all cable companies because then its content may actually be better and updated. The video game channel is awesome except that I am still watching the launch of Forza 2 which was 2 years ago!

The Voom channels have WAY to narrow of audience. In the future there will be a market for more specialized channels, but for now, we need more channels to view mainstream content. As the amount of HD programming expands, more bandwidth is immediately necessary to air it. I don't want to give the impression that Voom channels are without worth. But as a business, Dish needs more subscribers to make more money to launch more sats. They will make a lot more money showing Spike, Speed, Bravo, and Fox News, than they will showing Gallery and Equator. :2cents

It would not be smart for Dish to get rid of Voom. These channels are the only thing they have the DTV doesnt. Plus why would they want to get rid of 1/3 of their HD. I think they may try to keep a few of the channels and get rid of the ones that arent watched much.

Please re-read the entry above yours again.

They need to leave their mitts off of Monsters and Fu HD.. the main reasons why I signed up for the 24 month contract.

Gallery and Equator can go though. lol

I am happy as long as they keep Monsters and a couple others. Even if they get rid of Voom they wont add channels in its place right away. I think it would make more sense to knock them down to 5 channels and use the other 10 spots for National HD. Plus they are able to add a few of those channels now without freeing up the space by getting rid of Voom. There are 6 HD channels uplinked right now its just when they make them live is the question.
