moving to Minnesota

anyone hear have dish in minnesota? heard through the grapevine that reception is much spottier as you get waay north.

I am in Maple Grove about 20 miles north of Minneapolis and my reception is great!

I'm across the river in Hudson and have never lost SD channels. HD on the other hand, seems to be a little dicey. I do have a minor tree issue, but don't think that's the reason. My signal strength is good, but I lose HD if we get a good rainstorm or big snow. I think that's pretty common everywhere, though. One thing that's nice is we seem to blow right through the 'ice on your dish' temps down into the teens and low 20's.

Minnesota is a big state, south to north; where will you be?

I'm in Northfield, about 30 minutes south of the Twin Cities, and the Disk Network here is great. 90% of my viewing is high definition, and I wouldn't switch from Dish Network for anything else.

Especially, don't get trapped into a cable provider who promises the moon, but raises rates every time you blink. Sande

I'm out in the woods 15 miles north of Duluth and have no problems other than the normal loss with VERY heavy storms (snow or rain).
