robjamell 04-10-2005, 10:41 PM I purchased the PDP-5050HD from Circuit City and have 20 days left to see if I like it. I absolutely love it, but I have been told that the PDP-504CMX has the same performance and is less expensive.
Can someone please explain the differences and if they are 100% SURE the picture quality is the same. The 5050 has the best SD picture I have seen on a plasma.
Also, what video inputs does the 504 come standard with?
jsisler 04-11-2005, 10:26 AM in the marker for the same pioneer...what did you pay at CC? thanks.
robjamell 04-12-2005, 07:48 PM I paid their normal price, but I know when I go to take it back they will offer it to me very discounted.
jsisler 04-18-2005, 11:56 AM the 504CMX is more in line with the 5040hd being both 4th generation panels. the 5050hd is a 5th generation elite with the same pq as the elite 1120hd.
robjamell 04-18-2005, 01:52 PM Can you tell me the differences?
Is the 5050 worth the extra money?
ITALIAN926 04-18-2005, 02:10 PM The internet company that I bought my plasma from is selling the PDP-5050HD for $3899. Of course, I dont think theyre an authorized dealer for this model though. Why didnt you just buy the pdp5004c from costco ? I think its $4499
WOW ! What internet company is that? That price is fantastic....maybe TOO fantastic?
Thanks.
RFRF
jsisler 04-18-2005, 06:54 PM definitely too fantastic as dealer cost is around $4,400 - $4,800.
anyway the 5050-HD is the same panel as the 1120 less the following:
1.) gold plate connectors (ooh!)
2.) allows you to adjust the blue, green, and red seperately.
3.) additonal year of warranty
4.) the set is easier to calibrate than the 5050-HD do to some ISF flexibility.....not really an issue since the 5050-hd can be calibrated just the same by any experienced calibrator (if he is any good)
the difference in the 5050-hd and 1120 HD vs. the 5040HD and the 504cmx. is a new color filter that allows tv to achieve noticably better blacks.....and ace III vs. ace II....all in all about a 15% improvement in picture.
ITALIAN926 04-18-2005, 07:33 PM definitely too fantastic as dealer cost is around $4,400 - $4,800. Youre nutz. I was seeing a woman who worked for a distributor for Samsung and Sony. As an example, A Plasma that sold in the big stores like CC and Best Buy thats retailed $5000 cost her like $1800 straight from Samsung. I was all set to get the HP-P5031 for that price. We stopped seeing each other before I got my tax return and get an awesome deal.
By the way, I got my pdp-5004C cheaper than what Costco sells them for ($4300) . So I can vouch for this internet co. But had I known about Costco's great return policy , I wouldve bought it from them for more money.
robjamell 04-20-2005, 10:53 PM Can you please tell me the internet company?

Obviously, there is NO internet company or he would've given us the name.

BIKERDUDE 04-22-2005, 06:14 AM jsisler is right. The PDP5050HD is 5th generation. The PDP504CMX is 4th so they are different. I am sure the PDP505CMX will be out soon. Take the 5050 back you paid way to much. What is it $7000 there right, plus taxes. I will tell you were to go heard from a few friends in Cleveland about WWW.ClevelandPlasma.Com
Commercial PDP504CMX VS Consumer PDP5050HD... all depends on your needs. 504CMX is cheaper and will save you alot of money if you are running a surround sound and a audio video receiver. Are you wall mounting..buying the 5050 you are paying for a stand? The screen is almost the same but there are a lot of differences. To much to go into here.
If you need more info PM me I think I will be able to help you.
MNbri 04-22-2005, 08:28 AM FYI monitoroutlet or tvauthority... both authorized online pio dealers and their price on the 5050 is over 2k less than CC, including S/H
jza80 07-18-2005, 11:53 AM Also check out Beyondplasma.com They are an authorized dealer, they quoted me $4799 delivered for the 5050 (to California). That was way below the local chain stores but is higher than the non-authorized internet sellers.
bm11618 12-08-2005, 01:32 PM Try searching on bizrate.com and you will find many etailers selling the PDP-5050HD in that price range. I own the PDP-504CMX with an HD Xplorer video interface card and the results are astonishing! I bought from pricemad.com and I did not have any issues. Good Luck with your search.
krelldog 12-08-2005, 10:12 PM I can vouch for Clevelandplasma.com I used his services for a 50" Pioneer and am very happy with the whole experience.
Cle. Plasma 12-10-2005, 04:24 PM Well now there is the option of the Pioneer PDP-505CMX and the Pioneer PDP-5060HD.
