Does anyone know if Canada will be going all digital on February 17th 2009 along with the Usa. I find it very confusing having some channels still in analog n the same ones in digital. My Canadian provider is Cogeco. The analog channels are 002 to 068 & the digital channels are 902 to 968. So it makes it hard to tape shows to watch later i like to watch them on digital when i set them to tape on the 900`s it will reset itself it go to the analog channels. So i hope someone can answer my question. friend200013[

Unless you get your channels OTA, you will not be affected.
Cogego customers will not see any difference.
Sounds like you need help with your setup to record shows. Is your VCR after the digital box?

I don't get it.
Does it mean that everyone will have to migrate to HDTV or will basic cable still be avilable?
Thanks for any info on this...

Basic cable will be available but only in digital form so you can still use your old tube tv but you will need to rtent/buy a box to convert the digital signal back to analog.
Basic cable is unaffected by this change.
Cable providers are moving to digital, but that's totally independent from the move of OTA channels to digital.
In the example from friend20013, channels 2 to 68 might go away at one point, forcing everyone to use a digital box. Again, nothing to do with OTA, Feb 2009 and Aug 2011.
