What's the best player for Blu-ray movies on a PC???

Hey all,

This looks like an awesome forum, so here is my first post. Is VLAN the best player for .mkv files? It works just fine for me CPU-wise, and the quality is breathtaking. I am the lucky owner of a 15" UXGA (1600x1200) Thinkpad, which has not only IPS technology, but I have one of the BOE-Hydris AFFS TFT LCD's.

Co-incidentally, this is also my first Blu-ray movie ever, so am I doing it justice with the VLAN player, or should I use one that maybe plays it "better"? 720p is the compression, by the way!

Thanks all and Happy New Year! :hithere:

If the compression is 720p, this must be a downloaded movie?

MPC (Media Player Classic) is the best but you need CoreAVC codec too, you can find it on scenehd.org, no invites needed and then look at the forum it tells you how to install CoreAVC, or just remember after you install it you need to put the codec in C:\WINDOWS\system32 !!!
