This is sort of an russian mobster movie set in London.

Nothing really special here because there are no big action scenes, explosions or anything that would warrent high def sound.

Story 2/5

Normally I like Ganster Movies, this one was seemed slow and depressing. Wanton gang violence which is fine by me but overall the movie was slow.

Let me also add that there is a scene where Viggo (Stider from LOTR) is totally naked and engaged in this boody fight scene to the death. My wife is a big fan of Viggo but his image was totally runied because she said he had a really small package. Maybe they should have fitted him with a prosthetic for the shot.

This movie is definetly worth a rental but owning it? Well I don't see it as disc I plan to rewatch anytime soon. I own several gangster films on HD DVD this was my least favorite.

I have to agree, I just finished watching it and I don't know that I plan on buying it. I enjoyed the movie, but Im glad I rented it first.

I just watched this movie and quite liked it. It is slow but it's a drama told from the side of a life most of us will never know. It depicts what people will do to try and better themselves (the dead girl) and also shows how some people care very little for human life.

I spent some time in Russia and have seen a bit of the life there, the good and bad.

I like this movie for what it is.

The PQ and AQ don't really play into it, IMO. It's a drama.

The picture was quite good but I have to admit that I was so engrossed in the movie that I wasn't rating its quality.

I would to give it a 4/5 if I had to rate it.

Black bars were not on the top and bottom because of the movies aspect ratio of 16x9 or as stated on the box 1.85:1

I believe the vast majority of HD releases are in widescreen format(only one I know that is not is star trek) and can have an aspect ratio anywhere between 1.85:1 to 2.40:1 . The first being an AR that will fill your entire screen and the latter to have the thickest top and bottom black bars. Hope that helps some I believe the the forum on here in the highdef lounge has some stickys that will explain it a little more in detail..

I bought this for my wife since she too is a big Viggo fan and asked for it for Christmas.

She was put off a bit by the graphic violence in some scenes...I doubt she'll watch it again.

To me it was a so-so drama. Kind of predictable, too, as I openly called a couple of the supposed twists at the end.

Decent movie, but I wish we'd rented instead.
