Hooked up my new 722 the other night and noticed the audio sounded like they were talking in a tunnel or can .... sounded real distorted. Has anyone else had this problem ??? I have the 722 hooked up the same way I had my 522 with the optical digital cable. Could this just have been the station up feed maybe ?? ... don't notice it on all stations !!

I have a post about audio distortion on both the 622 and 722 receivers. No one has responded to it so am thinking it possibly just bad luck on my part or the distortion bothers me more than others.
My 722, and the replaced 622 both sounded the same, they make some programs sound distorted. The distortion is primarily noticeable on spoken voices, such as newscasters. Mine too seems more noticeable on some channels, particularly the news channels CNN, MSNBC, etc where there is a lot of up front dialog.
As to the sound you describe I have not had that, but a couple of times the 622 would start sounding like people talking under water. A hard reset cured that both times (removing plug from wall).
Let me know what you find out, please.

when i was in boy scouts , we used to wax a long string & attach it to 2 cans to listen/talk to each other. maybe my scoutmaster built that 722 of yours! :what:

I have had the same problem on occasion. An easy fix is to change the channel and then change back.
Works every time....

Some users that have had this same problem have eliminated the HDMI connection and used the component video and optical digital audio, others have used the HDMI for video and optical digital audio with success as well. Maybe this will help and maybe not, just a suggestion. Some of the new A/V receivers also have lip sync correction.
