VIP722 Interactive Connection

Anyone connect your 722 to the internet as Dishnetwork as advertised? If so, what kind of additional things does it provide?

Yes, I have. I dont have a home phone line so to prevent the additional 5 a month charge I use the internet. It also allows me to download movies, which I was excited about until I saw the available movies. They are mostly old and the less popular ones and costs as much as a PPV. They need to price them better before I download them.

If you haven't hooked it up, its not worth running a cable at this point. What they need to do is add slingbox functionality to the receiver then it would be fantastic.

Not only that, the internet connection will also waive the additional tuner fee and will soon allow you to program your dvr via the internet.

I think the internet connect will only be for the Vip receivers.
