Dish v622 remote issue?

I just got a new Sharp 46" lcd and when I fire up the TV, it takes a few minutes for my dish remote to work. Didn't happen at all with my last LCD. Anyone run into this? The remote works fine, just takes a few minutes before it reacts- the batteries are fresh too, tried that the first time it happened.

I have a Vip722 and a Samsung LCD and the infrared remote doesn't work at all. I was told it is because of the tv and interference that it caused. This sounds somewhat similar.

Doesn't make sense.
Never heard of such a thing , over 400 installs.

it's weird, but still does it. you know how the "dish" screen comes up when you fire up the tv, well sometimes it'll accept "press select..." but usually it takes a few minutes before it works. then, no problems until you shut it down and start over. had no issue with my last lcd, and the ufh remote in the bedroom never does it either.:what:

seach back in the forum about Sharp tv's and infrared radiation emitted from their screens. Apparently, this can cause a remote not to work. Remember some others saying they had this problem with Sharp panels. Possibly on yours the display panel does not emit infra red as much after it warms up. Can't remember if there was a fix or not. Possibly some one else here will remember the details better than I.

I'm not sure if it is proper forum etiquette, but Ray E posted this in November:

"had the same problem with a sharp tv took me a while to figure it out

the screen emits a ir beam that conflicts with the directv remote when the tv is first turned on and for about 15- 20 min. after, and then it will work.

this is because of the automatic room brightness setting.( two green lights below picture- there should be only one.)

you must turn it off in settings for each video input. ie vcr dvd sat etc.

to check this turn off tv change a channel on the dtv box and turn on the tv ,if the dtv box switched you found your problem.

if people tell you that the tv doesnt emit ir aim your cellphone camera at the screen and it will be bright white on your cp.view finder.

after i turned off the feature and reduced the briteness the remote worked

good luck"
