HD or not HD, that is the question.

I currently have a new Sharp Aquios LC46D64U (1080p) LCD and a SuperDish installed with DISH Player-DVR 625. I am in the Milwaukee market and HD locals are not yet broadcasted via Dish. Is it worth going to a new HD reciever (722) and get the limited HD service that is available with Dish? I am wondering if the upconvert is helpfull in clearing up the bismal picture I currently have with my new TV. BTW, I am using a Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver that I am running signal from the 625 through prior to going to the LCD. (The stereo receiver has HDMI upcoding). What does everyone think. Your help is appreciated.

Please remember this is JMHO. I think you'll be VERY happy with HD on your Sharp and not so thrilled with the SD (same as it is now). I've got 3 HD TV's and the SD quality varies between lousy and pretty good, depending on the channel.I don't think you'll see any inprovement in the SD channels. As for your locals-can you get 'em with an OTA antenna? That's what I do. I still have the Dish SD locals as well 'cause they're included with the DVR Advantage plan and that's the only way to get the program guide for 'em. Hope this helps.
