This is my first post, and I would REALLY appreciate some help. I've tried searching for this, but I don't really know how to describe the problem technically so my random trolling around has been unsuccesful.
The TV is a 36in wide 16:9 HDTV (1080i) with component inputs (no HDMI). I bought it as a shelf model about 2 1/2 years ago.
Lately, I've noticed that about a 4-5 in high magenta band of color is scrolling continiously from the bottom of the tv to the top and repeating, making all of the colors change along with it. This effect is REALLY annoying.
I first noticed it after installing a PS3 via component inputs. I did have a little surround sound speaker on top of the TV that I thought might be causing interferance, but moving it didn't help. I've switched all the inputs and cables, but nothing makes a difference. The problem exists regardless of the input source or whether it is deisplaying a 480 image or 1080i.
I'm afraid that my TV is dying, but I've had TV's before for very long periods of time with no problem so what's wrong with this one? :banghead:
I will answer any questions or give any specifics or even try to take pictures if anyone thinks it will help. It was orginally a $1500 TV (though I got it substantially discounted). For that kind of money, it shouldn't be dying after 30 months, and yeah, it's out of warranty.
Please HELP!!!
