I have a high def Sony with high def cable. If I wanted to see the better picture and had the choice of renting a standard DVD of a movie or seeing the movie on high def through my cable, which would be better?

The HD movie on cable would be much better. The HD movie on cable will be at least double the resolution compared with a standard DVD. oldcaliforniak 11-23-2007, 10:59 AM The HD movie on cable would be much better. When I rent a movie should I be looking through the stack of to find one in High Def? Usually the stack of DVDs at the rental store look all the same. Loves2Watch 11-23-2007, 11:20 AM In order to play a high definition DVD, you need a High Definition DVD player. Two competing formats Blu-ray and HD DVD have high definition DVD players available. They both look identical in HD picture quality so if you do go and buy one note the price difference (Blu-ray costs 2 times as much as HD DVD) and I choose to buy a HD DVD for myself. Remember, they both look the same, no difference whatsoever. Also both type up-scale your regular DVD's (that's right they play regular DVD's as well) to make them look much better. Hope that answered your question. oldcaliforniak 11-23-2007, 07:04 PM Thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to know. | |
