Spamming has been really bad lately, and I have a suggestion:
Can we implement a rule that would require a new member to be registered for at least 24 hours before they can begin posting?
Most of these spammers create their account and spam within a few minutes and then they never come back.
Just a thought.

Sounds great until the person who signed up has, to them, an urgent problem that they want fixed ASAP. (or they want to buy their new HD TV RIGHT now.)

Well then they should have signed up sooner!
Ya, I was thinking that that's the reason it hasn't been done yet.

IMO - it is nowheres near as bad as it once was. i can't remember the last time I reported a spam post/thread. For a while there it was 2 or 3 a day.
Just look at the "Nascar - are they making this up as they go along thread" and you will see a ton of bumps to get rid of the spam as the thread showing on the front page of HDF

When spam posts are reported Cass or I will delete all of the spam posts by the member. Sometimes we see the spam and sometimes we don't unless it is reported as I don't read every post on the forum and probably Cass does not either.
So reporting spam is appreciated so we can keep the forum spam free. Please note, however, Spam is allowed in the Spam forum.
