Costco policy change

Looks like a change in Costco policy. Below is from the second page of this article. May be old news - not sure.

Costco wants to make sure that does not happen again. It has changed its generous return policy to permit televisions to be returned only within 90 days, as it does with computer purchases. The company has doubled the manufacturer’s warranty to two years.

Looks like a change in Costco policy...... May be old news - not sure.Actually it is old news - Costco changed their return policy on TVs and other assorted electronics about 8 months ago. It's still a great return policy, and that doubling the warranty thing is a nice touch.

I agree. 90 days is fine. The policy that was in place done nothing except encourage abuse, and hinder good marketing with a proper margin expectation, hence more choices and better service overall.

I was in Costco yesterday with my wife and some idiot was bragging that he just returned his 4th TV (two years old) and was upset that the policy had changed. He said that now he can't upgrade every couple of years for free. I wanted to knock him on his ass.
