i just upgraded my cable (comcast) to hd with a dvr. my tv is a 42" Panasonic plasma (TH-42PX60U) and i connected both with an hdmi cable. i went through the setup on the dvr (scientific atlanta explorer 8300hd) and it appears my hd channels are in (called comcast and i can view the channels, including my premiums).
my question is when i hit the info button on my tv, as well as the display on the dvr it reads 480p resolution even though i'm on the hd channels. is this normal or did i miss a setting on my tv or dvr?
i did go through both the easy and the advanced setup on the dvr and my tv still says that when i'm on the hd channels it's in 480p. during the advanced setup, when you have to choose your resolutions my tv does recognize 1081i resolution, but when i exit and turn the dvr on, everything reads in 480p.
