Problem - EDIT - SAVE

I keep having this problem. When I go back to edit a post - after making the changes - I push SAVE and the little arrow goes around in circles . . . sometimes. Other times it works.

But if it doesn't work - then I have to go to the ADVANCED screen and press SUBMIT REPLY which always works . . . .

?

I noticed that as well. Some sort of bug in the software.

Also it is a good idea to hit ctrl-A, ctrl-C before saving long posts.

Huh?

Ctrl-A selects the entire post and Ctrl-C copies the post to your computer's buffer. That way if the save doesn't work you still have your entire post in your buffer. Among other things you can then do is save your post by copying it into a text file with Ctrl-V and repost later.

Aaah . . . thank you for that explaination. I have been using a note pad from Word to do this.

What I used to do, when I saw the little arrows going round in circles, was to copy the post before the 'bug' discarded my changes. Now, whenever I see any delay I just go into advanced like Lee says and save from there.

While we're on the subject of editing, I'd like to suggest two small changes:

1) allow 5 minutes for editing (instead of the current 2 minutes) posts, before the 'edited by...' appears at the bottom. If not, then 3 minutes would at least be better. I usually correct my grammar and edit after I post, so this will give me fewer posts that don't show that they were edited.

2) Allow posts to be deleted up until 2 or 3 minutes after posting in case of duplicate posts or simple bad judgement.

New info. If you only change one or two spelling errors - the SAVE button seems to work on a regular basis. But type a post - hit or miss . . usually miss

Hi Bruce,

"Edited by" time has been increased to 3 minutes.

Cass
