RV Dish HD

I am taking a four week plus vacation and would like to have TV reception in my camper. The camper antenna of course has limited capability so I would like to use one of my Dish Network receivers. One of my receivers is for HD programming. If I buy a satellite dish for the camper I would like it to be HD compatible.

The Superdish seems kind of large for camping. Is there a way to use a different dish and receive HD programming?

Thanks

I use a DISH1000 with my RV as it fully supports my channel lineup, including HD. Keep in mind that if you have the 622 you can watch the PVR without hooking up the dish.

Aligning the DISH1000 is trickier than some of the other antenna options, but it gets easier with time. Be sure and pickup a signal meter.

It appears DTV is moving its HD to Mpeg4 Sats on a new band. The sat dish needs to pick up 5 sat for HD. This seems impossible for the RV users. Is Dish going the same way? For now it seems Dish is the way to go for RV users. Any ideas on the future ?

You will be using the Dish 1000 or Dish 1000.2 for HD. Possibly a 500 but not sure. I traveled with a Dish 500 for 2 years and just switched to HD and the 1000.2. About the same size but both probabley larger than your superdish. Certainly a lot trickier to aim than SD.

If you need help pointing and I can lead you in the right diretion. I had to do a lot of research to figure it out.

For camping you might want to use just a dish 500 and take what you get.

119 still provides an amount of HD programming.

Wow. Lyngsat referenced above appears to be WAY inaccurate. According to it Dallas doesn't even have HD locals--not true--they're on 110. And 61.5 is not even close. Better look at:
