Do you think it will ever get to the point where we could get HD only subscriptions? With all of the new HD channels coming on board this year and then eventually next year, there will be many HD channels and I'm sure another price increase. I am at the point now that I never watch the SD channels. Any thoughts? Dish doesn't offer an HD only package that I know.

Not as part of a lease anyway. If you bought your receiver, it may be possible to have HD pack only.

As market saturation increases (say the next two years) and people who have HDTVs actually get them hooked up and set up right, many more people will react as those who are seeing it have...they will adjust their viewing habits, too.
The guys who will get wind of this to push change are the advertisers.
When they realize that many with HD aren't watching SD, they'll move more advertising money to HD. SD advertising will be to the "poor" with conversion boxes.
Money talks.
Soon, SD will be relegated to weather feeds and kids programming, info-mercials, and such.
Watch and see!
