NESN HD in Massachusetts Boston Area

I have been waiting for Dish to announce release of NESN in HD in the Massachusetts area, but haven't heard anything on this front yet. Calling the customer service is of no use either, they outright refuse to give any details on this.

I am asking anyone with more information about the availability of this channel in HD to help me out.

I watched Charlie chat a week or so ago, and they mentioned that
they were adding 10 or 12 new hd regional sports networks, and
Nesn is not one of those. There were none north of New York, however
I suppose a contract with Nesn will be worked out soon. Just my
two cents.;)

I emailed them a couple of times, and they said they had no information regarding NESN. I keep on hoping with the MPEG4 bandwidth allowing more channels and the rumors of new sats going up that eventually they'll add it. AS it is the SD signal looks awful.

You can try and give NESN some feedback here:

Maybe they'll have more information than the customer service people at Dish! And if enough of us ask, maybe they'll be more motivated to get it on for us.

I got an e-mail back from Nesn today and it said that they had been in contact with Dish network about carrying the channel and Dish said that they were not interested at this time. What the hell is going on with Dish. I sent them an e-mail 8 days ago and I got no response then I sent one to Nesn and they got back to me in two days. No wonder why Dish isn't giving a straight answer because they are the ones blowing it.

am in the same boat. I am in Pawtucket, RI and just got the new 5 lmb dish as well as the new H20 DirectTV reciever. I was told by Direct TV that once I upgraded to those I would be getting NESN in HD 24/7, but I still am not....623 is in Standard def!
I have called customer service repeatedly and get a different answer and run around every time...telling me I may need the baseball package! Today for example, the game is in Hi-Def on channel 94 but it is blacked out! What is weird is that the show the pre and post game shows wre on 94 in HD but the game was blacked out!
This is from DTV's website:
"Tune to Channels 95, 96 or 97 to find games in HD from your local RSN. RSNs with 24/7 HD coverage are available on the same channel number as the standard definition RSN. RSNs are broadcast in HD to the team's respective market (DMA). In order to access 24/7 RSN HD programming, one must reside in the DMA, have a five-LNB Multi-Satellite dish antenna, and a DIRECTV HD Receiver (model H20 or HR20)."

And I am only seeing channel 623 in standard definition! What's the deal?!?!?!

NESN never bothered to respond to me. At least when I asked Dish, I got a reply - not that it was any news I wanted to hear.

I'm assuming that they need to have room on the sats before they can switch over to the HD signal, but with the SD as pixellated as it is, I don't want to watch whats there now.

Let's hope when they launch the new satellite, they'll actually add it then.

Of course, I'm not holding my breath for it to happen!
