Do any of you have Directv AND Dish Network?
I am considering getting both.I already have Dish Network's HD package. Is there a good reason to get both-DTV and DN?
Do any of you have both and why?
One advantage of adding DTV to my Dish Network is that I'll get a free HD receiver or $100 off an HD DVR and free installation and 3 free months free of
HBO,Cinemax and Showtime.

What an ODD response you gave to my posting.I don't know if you realize this..there are people in this forum who subscribe to 2 satelite services along with one cable service ..all in one household.I've read their posting's here in the past .
But your bad humor response to my posting was weird. You might of as well of written nothing...it would of come across better.LOL:offtopic

I can't see the point of spending money for both. Essentially, they offer the same thing, with perhaps some different choices, and in a subjective way, different quality for the viewer.
I can think of better ways of spending my extra cash, actually. What does having both give you, other than the added headache of troubleshooting two systems and two customer service groiups and having an A/B switch to the same TV to switch between the two receivers?
I guess the question would be to list the advantages you would have, and whether the cost really is outweighed by the extras you would be getting for a rather limited time.

I know there are quite a few who have multiple providers, perhaps they will chime in later.
I only have Dish, but can see where both or all three might be fun.

Before I moved I had both, I had HD with DIsh and I got the most basic package for DTV and I got the football package, I liked it but it since I moved to a house I dont want 3 dishes on my roof, but I did enjoy it. I am a big tech dork so anything I can get to make things better I will do.

I had Directv and switched to Dish. Never had them at the same time. Glad I made the switch as Dish has more HD content and slightly better PQ (IMO). Dish's 622 DVR is far superior to D*'s HD DVR. Unless you just have to have the NFL package, I can see absolutely no reason why you would want to subscribe to both providers at same time.

I've been watching this thread the last few days and trying to come up with a reason to get both and frankly I can't envision a scenario where I would want both. I can see many reasons as to why someone would have local cable and satellite but not both sat companies. At least not for me anyway.
