DISH in the San Diego area, experiences? Rec's?

I am thinking about dumping cable, and going satellite. I live in the Encinitas area. I'd be interested in hearing opinions about DirecTV versus Dish Network, installers in the area, where you purchased, what you'd do different, etc.

I also have a high def TV, what's a good deal for a package with high def channels, and is one provider superior to the other?

I went from DTV to DISH and wish I never had. While the picture is clear for the most part, DTV was too. But we never had the software headeaches when we had DTV.

if I had it to do over again, I would go with Direct. Read through all of the software issues on the forums. I've had them all in the past and still have half of them now. And I'm on my fifth receiver. :mad:
