Question about hd possibility from both tuners on a dish vip611jayleeray 07-04-2007, 03:39 PM I want to know if it is possible to get a hd signal to tv2 from tuner 2 on a dish receiver vip622. Tv 2 is strictly sd only, HD can be viewed but is will be downrezzed to 480i. Tv 2 is strictly sd only, HD can be viewed but is will be downrezzed to 480i. Can you clarify? So you can output analog component video AND HDMI to two different TV's simultaneously, but they both view the same thing? So basically there are several HD-outputs for "TV-1" and several SD outputs for "TV-2." I have two HDTV's, and I absolutely need an HD-DVR on both of them, but I don't want to buy a second DVR and pay monthly on that as well. If I could run two HDTV's off a single feed, that would be acceptable, as I can only watch TV in one room at a time anyway. garys 07-08-2007, 03:20 PM Tv1 has HDMI, component, s-video, composite and rf. Tv2 has composite and rf. The 622 can be run in single or dual modes. If you leave in single mode, run HDMI to one tv and component to the other, the tv1 remote will work receiver in same room as the receiver, while tv2 remote will run receiver from another room. Both HDMI and component connections are active all the time, so in this case you can run two HD tv's off one receiver, but same program is being view on both tv's. So if you are only using TV1 outputs, is the 2nd remote useless? Also, if you do use TV2, do you just have to run your own cables? garys 07-09-2007, 08:17 PM Great, thank you for the info. Using single user mode and shared view enabled, the tv2 remote will work as a uhf tv1 remote. If you disable the shared view, the tv2 remote becomed useless. I would think you could run your own cables, but you may be able to pay the installer extra to run them for you although you will probably have to buy longer cables than what dish will supply. I'm not sure what single user mode and shared view is is shared view when you run two TVs off of TV1? | |
