VIP622 DVR recording?HDTVSam007 07-02-2007, 01:34 AM If they install it on one HDTV and one SDTV will I still be able to watch a live channel while recording another?:helpme Thank You in advance! garys 07-02-2007, 07:13 AM Yes, but it depends on your setup. When being used in dual user mode, there may be conflicts if not in shared view depending on which tuner is being used for recording and for viewing. Don't forget there is also a tuner for OTA which when in dual mode is not accessible on tv2 but can be made viewed if being recorded. Whatever is recorded is available to both tv outputs. HDTVSam007 07-02-2007, 10:03 AM Thank You Gary,! It is relieving to know I can record a show and watch a different one.:drinks jim5506 07-02-2007, 02:27 PM The 622 has three HD tuners, two for satellite and one for OTA. You can record up to three HD programs at the same time while watching up to two pre-recorded programs or any combination of lower numbers that you can think of. You can record an OTA and a satellite program while watching another satellite program, but if you are recording an OTA program you must watch from one of the two satellite tuners, not OTA. HDTVSam007 07-02-2007, 05:31 PM Thank You Jim that was very good info!:hithere: geneowens 07-04-2007, 06:59 AM My installer told me that I could only get HD on one TV with the 622. I have it connected to two HD TVs but I only get HD on one. This does not seem consistent with what you said earlier??? Any thoughts about connections needed to get HD on both TVs?? Thanks, garys 07-04-2007, 09:57 AM My installer told me that I could only get HD on one TV with the 622. I have it connected to two HD TVs but I only get HD on one. Thanks, Use HDMI connections on one tv and Component connections on the other. You will get same program on both tv's at the same time as both connections are for tv1 only. jim5506 07-04-2007, 11:39 PM Do not confuse tuners with outputs. The 622 has three tuners. Unfortunately Dish has used the same nomenclature for the outputs (TV1 and TV2) as it uses for the tuners. TV1 output is HDand can be accessed by HDMI and/or component connections. Using HDMI for one TV and component for the other you can have HD to both HDTV's , but both will see the same programming at the same time. TV2 output is SD only. It sounds like your second HDTV is connected to the TV2 output, so it only sees SD signal. If you need different HDTV programming on 2 HDTV's simultaneously, you must have either 2 622's or a 622 and a 211 receiver (non DVR, but HD). | |
