HD Newbie

Hello,

I am writing for my parents. They have recently purchased the HD satellite from Dish, which is due to be installed next week. In the meantime they have an old television. They were told that they MUST purchase a HD television in order to receive the signal.

It seems to me that they can receive the satellite signal on their old television, it just won't be in HD.

So, my question is, do they HAVE to purchase a new HD television or can they make do for a time with their old television?

I am new to HD, so this question will help me to begin to understand things as well.

Not true, But what is the point as you can upgrade to HD at anytime.
Which set are they getting 211 or 622?

The 211 is a HD/SD/OTA single tuner receiver. The 622 is a HD/SD/OTA dual tuner/recorder with outputs for 2 TVs 1 in HD. For more info go to the Dishnetwork web site and look for equipment/receivers.
