622 Double-Recording HBO Shows

Just wondering if anybody else has seen this, and/or has a solution...

Under one certain situation, our 622 DVR is double-recording shows. Here is what causes it to happen:

The show is on HBO-HD on channel 300
The show is a series
The timer is set for "New Only"
The show is new that night, and repeated later that night (for example, Sopranos at 8pm and repeated at 10pm)We have timers for a couple of different series on HBO, and every time they record twice. I know the timer is set correctly (just once, with the right options). Veeeeeeeeery strange.

Anybody seen this? In my mind, this reeks of a software issue...

I'm not a Dish Network customer; I have cable and use a Moto DVR. I have the same problem-- even though the settings are for "New Only" I get EVERY episode, evertime --all week long . . . It is a real pain in the butt . . .

Unfortunately, this is probably a result of sloppy Program Guide editing. I see this often on the series I like to record.

It appears that the way the DVR differentiates between episodes has little to do with the title or description, but everything to do with the Episode number, and the air date. I often get multiple copies of episodes, and they will be different in the air date or episode number.

It is a pain in the butt, but other than scanning through your schedule and skipping the errant recordings, there is nothing we can do.

On the other hand, if DISH were to clean up their act with the PG, we'd all be better off...
