We currently have Dish Network and are in the market to get our first HD TV and would be upgrading to a Dish dual HD DVR.
Since so many channels are still in SD, am I going to be disappointed with the picture quality of our new HD TV with the SD channels.
How is Dish Networks SD quality?
Thank You,
Susan

Thier SD is better than most cable and is a little better than Directv IMHO.
As will all HDTV's, the PQ on SD will be worse than say a 32" analog crt tv. But the HD is awesome.
If you have a 622, you can press menu-6-8 and change resolutions. This is not very important on HD channels(changing between 720 and 1080), but if I dont change to 480i when I watch a SD channel, it looks worse. The 622 set on 480i looks pretty good for SD on my 46" Sony.

Right now, I have Dish SD and a basic Comcast HD package. The SD is ok at best but will probably be better with the 622. The funny thing, is that with Comcast, the HD looks real good, and the locals in SD is the worst I have seen, but the none local SD looks better than anything else. Even QVC, don't know what that is about.
