I have a ViP622 DVR hooked up to a Sony KDS55A200 LCoS Rear Projection TV.
Noticed today that all the HD channels look pretty bad, they look like there not in true HD & that the picture looks stretched out .
Also noticed that the logos are slightly cut off on the screen ( ESPN, A&E)
Any Idea what it could be ???? Dish Service or TV ?
I have my 622 hooked up via HDMI. I looked at the Point Dish menu & My signal strength is at 73...........when it was originally installed it was at 95. Could that mean anything as well ?

No, signal strenght is fine. If it drops too low (for me in the mid 40's or so), you picture will start to pixelate and go in and out.
It is possible that the TV or STB settings got messed up. Since things appeared 'cut off', is it possible you hit the zoom or strech mode on the TV. Check and see what it is and change it around to see if it helps. Also check if the proper settings in the 622 menu are correct. If you have some component cables laying around, connect that up. If everything looks good, it is most likely the video settings in the HDMI input.

Go to Menu > 6 (System Setup) > 8 (HD Set up) & check that the TV Type is set for 1080i, I was checking a menu for something the other day &, all of a sudden, my 622 "reset." Not a reboot (of which I've only had 3 in 14+ months), but almost all of the menu choices went back to the default settings, including the TV Type to 480p.

Along with checking the tv zoom features and the output resolution as stated above, check the 622 zoom also.
The "format" button at the bottom of the remote will do this.
It has two settings, HD and SD. Whatever you set the screen for on a HD channel it will retain, same with a SD.
I have my HD's on Normal and my SD's on Full (I think).

I feel like an idiot. The Format button on the remote was the problem.
Somebody must have hit it on accident. I hardly use the Dish Remote. I always use my Harmony 720. My wife or someone else must have hit the Format button.
Problem solved...............Thanks for everyones suggestions.

Yeah, well, don't feel like too much of an idiot. I've got at least 5 other people in this house who like to push buttons on the remote and its been days since I've seen the picture cutoff.
I tried everything to get it fixed. Then I read this thread.
Voila'. :yippee: Problem solved. Now if I can just educate the others...
