Need Help

hey guy i need some help here. i moved my dishs i have a d 500 pointed at 119 and 110 and a d 300 at 61.5. before i moved the two i would go to the signal screen and had two signal bars, now i only have one and i'm having trouble aiming it. whats the trick to this?

Two signal bars?

All my receivers only show one signal bar.

First and foremost, the pole MUST, MUST, MUST be vertical.

Look at your 119 or 110 dish point screen it will tell you approximate values for azimuth (angle relative to true north), elevation and skew (multiple lnb twist from horizonal) for your zipcode.

This should get you a signal that you can use to peak the dish.

Repeat the same with Dish 300 except no skew needed.

ok i i think i get it. the pole the sat is on is bent, so the top bent part of the pole has to be vertical correct? i did that then i adjusted the elv. then tried to adjust the az. still nothing.

now as far as the double signal bars i had the 110/119 bar then right under that i had the 61.5 bar. i did not set that up the installer did that so. i have the quad lmb with 119 in line 1 110 in line 2 and the 61.5 connected to what i think is line 4 (the last connection to the right if your looking at the eye.

Are you on the dish point screen or the system info screen?

Do you have a switch or is the 61.5 dish connected to the D500?

on the dish point screen/ yes the 61.5 is connected to the d 500

I was not aware that you could add a wing dish to a quad. I thought all the connections on a quad were outputs. I think you need a switch in your setup.

Before they put up my D1000, I had a DP quad which I believe has 4 outputs from the two lnb's and no inputs.

i thought the same thing but like i said an installer hooked it up so i was leaving it that way. now i'm thinking i'll change it.

maybe there is something in the setup throught the rec. because like i said i did have two signal bars.
