360 iming help

My son gets the message everytime he goes to the iming option windows live messenger is not available from a windows live child account. Is there any way to allow him to im??? I really don't think he needs all these family settings but somehow we got stuck with them when he signed up.

You might try going into the settings for messenger on a PC and change/remove the parental controls.
