Does anyone know a time frame or have any info on when DISH or cable will be able to offer network (ABC, CBS, NBC,....) HD programming. I'm getting sick of screwing around with all this antenna crap. Thanks.

Their problem is bandwidth...same issues with DirecTV, which currently only offers CBS-HD. Until they find a way to expand their satellite infrastructure, HD offerings are going to remain thin.

Sorry to hear that you've got problems with OTA signals. I was expecting the same thing when I decided to buy a UHF antenna from Radio Shack. To my surprise, there's been no problem other than I don't get signals in the early morning hours, which doesn't bother me since i don't watch TV at those hours. I live about 40 miles from the transmitter towers for local network channels and get pretty good digital signals...the plus side is that it's free!

If there is any way for you to do it, keep the antenna out of the attic. I know it will look better, but the signal is really supressed. Especially if you have a radiant barrier. On some houses I have had better luck with a high quality set top antenna (helical element) over an attic antenna.

right now, i've got a TV55 and it is pretty shady. i've tried several smaller indoor models, and they all suck. i live in an apartment, so i can't exactly mount some huge monstrosity on the roof, you know?

I'm afraid that that is a long time away, at least for satellite service from DISH or DirecTV.

Some of you may want to try a Radio Shack indoor antenna, the 15-1880. It received an excellent review in the August 2004 issue of Home Theater. If it doesn't work well, bring it back. Costs around $50.
