Hello,

Can someone tell me what the best(standard) distance to watch for a 46" LCD TV? I want to make a decision that I should buy a bigger LCD TV or not.

Also, which one should I buy the "Sony KDL-46S2010 720p" or "Sony KDL-46v2500 1080P"? The price diffrent is only $400. The price for the Sony KDL-46S2010 is on sale for $1,799.00 now.
I watch the non-HD tv programs all the time because the channels don't have the HD programs yet. Is the picture quality is better if I have the "Sony KDL-46v2500 1080P" for the non-HD channels. Thanks.

10 feet will be good distance to watch 46 inch 1080p set, V2500 is a good set, i would suggest u to get 1080p for future DVD formats and better PQ overall as compared to 720P, do not fall for "since there is no broadcast source in 1080p it is not worth it", go for 1080p

A guideline of 1.5x the screen diagonal would suggest you can sit as close as 80" from a 1080p set. 2x minimum the screen diagonal for a 720p set. I agree with the previous poster...a 1080p is a better investment in future HD for an extra $400.

I bought the 40v2500 3 months ago for $1900 and I love it. SD is...well...o.k. but HD looks fantastic. I'm told with a 1080p set, even SD will look a bit better...but I'm not an expert either.

The 1080p will benefit you most for gaming and HD/BR DVD. For sat./OTA/DVD, the 768 will work fine.
